MOBZircles

Thursday, March 23, 2017

A while ago I saw a tweet from Science Magazine displaying a hypnotizing GIF of a rotating circle. Only on closer inspection you notice that it's built-up of dots travelling in straight lines! I got curious and couldn't help myself. Ergo: MOBZircles, a straight steal of that idea, only with circles rotating in both directions and a little interactivity - you get to change the animation parameters.

Be sure to follow an individual dot!

Try it out in full screen

The source code is relatively compact: MOBZircles.js. Basically, just a lot of sines and cosines ;-)
